Description :
The shipping / Receiving Clerk will manage the daily flow and completion of order fulfillment and packaging of a variety of products accurately.
Requirements :
- Oversee shipping schedule of daily fulfillment orders.
- Verifying and approving shipments – outgoing and incoming.
- Verifies that completed orders meet company quality standards, and that order slips match and have the appropriate signatures.
- Verifies that packaging, quantity and part numbers are correct
- Comparing prices and carrier services to obtain the best shipping rates.
- Respond to requests for expedites, freight quotes, shipping documents within 24 hours.
- Maintains detailed and accurate work records.
- Collaborate with the team to identify ways to improve shipping effectiveness; implements viable ideas.
- Understand how to accurately label units and packages to be shipped.
- Ability to label defects or deviations found during the work process.
- Use a pallet jack to move pallets around safely as needed for loading, putting inventory away or packaging purposes or other equipment.
- Demonstrate desire to learn and help others.
- Ability to ensure themselves and colleagues are following safety requirements.
- Have the ability to effectively communicate needed changes to SOP’s and work instructions based on best practices found.
- Support On-Time Delivery objectives by collaborating with Customer Experience team to ensure orders are being prioritized and shipped on time.
- Motivate, inspire, and foster teamwork within the Shipping / Receiving team to ensure that performance and productivity targets are achieved
- Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers; checks against suppliers count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing officer per company policy.
- Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments.
- Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records for requested categories including goods returned and returnable pallets.
- Maintains database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required.
- Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
- Prepares bills of lading and truck tickets for shipments.
- Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage.
- All other duties as requested.
