What are the responsibilities and job description for the Park Maintenance position at Lago Vista POA?
Essential Duties
1. Maintain park appearance and operations through landscaping and grounds maintenance activity including post installation.
2. Regular trash removal from receptacles and clean up the grounds.
3. Perform routine repairs, trim trees, mow and weed eat grass, paint, and pick up debris in parks. May apply pesticides.
4. Clean and maintain all equipment and vehicles.
5. Operate a motor vehicle to check grounds and pick up supplies.
6. Promptly reports all accidents, injuries, theft, loss and broken/damaged equipment/property to immediate supervisor. Reports or corrects all unsafe conditions observed to immediate supervisor.
7. Performs such other duties as may be assigned and assist with special events, etc.
8. Provides assistance to Marina staff and facilities department as requested.
9. Security and security related issues
10. Office related work such as furniture moving or supply runs.
11. Facility maintenance and set up.
12. Provides quality customer service to the general public, members, other staff and all other work contacts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Proper use of mower, weed eater, loppers, drills, grinders, saws, pole saws, chainsaws and common tools.
Landscaping techniques including sprinkler repairs.
Basic masonry, painting, minor carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs.
Machine safety and technique
Ability to:
Perform minor repairs on grounds and buildings.
Operate motor vehicle and watercraft
Skill in:
Knowing which tools are needed for assigned projects
Communicate in English with members and staff
Resolve work problems
Work well with others in a collaborative manner
Needed Qualifications
Education: High School or equivalent
Experience: 1 year landscaping and grounds maintenance experience that included maintenance and operation of mowers and weed eaters.
Training/Certificates: Texas Drivers License Class C, Clean drug screen
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to stand, sit, kneel, walk, hear, listen, talk, write, see, stoop, bend, lift, pull, push, swim, drive vehicle, use office equipment, computer and phone and troubleshoot mechanical problems.
- Work is mainly outdoors, sometimes under extreme heat or cold
- Work 40 hours a week: 7am -3:30pm with 30 minute lunch break, may include some holiday weekends. Minimum overtime.
- Customer service for members or the public who can be angry or have complaints
- Routine operation of motorized vehicles and watercraft
- Work with other staff to complete projects
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 per hour
