Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Monitor vital signs and provide patient monitoring as needed to ensure health and safety.
- Support clients in social interactions and community engagement to promote social skills and independence.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to appropriate personnel.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive client information.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to develop individualized care plans.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients.
- Assist with transportation needs for appointments or community activities as required.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with home community care practices and assisted living environments is advantageous.
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and patient care techniques is beneficial.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
- Background in social work or experience in a group home setting is a plus.
