What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Care Taker position at Lagoon Amusement Park?
Description
The Animal Care Taker is responsible for the daily care and feeding of the animals as well as the cleaning of the animal cages and pens in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Animal Care Staff also maintain the walkways, roads, and surrounding grounds which included removal of debris, sweeping, raking, and snow removal.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
- The Animal Care Taker will be working with a variety of animals which requires a high levels of safety consciousness and maturity.
- Must have a current Driver’s License
- Able to work effectively independently as well as in a group.
- Able to move equipment which would include pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting.
- Able to stand and/or walk for up to eight (8) hours.
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Must have good hearing and visual acuity to observe animals, equipment, Lagoon guests, etc. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to readjust focus.
- Able to read and understand daily checklists and other written materials.
- Able to perform work duties outdoors in varying weather conditions prevalent at the time.
- Requires early arrivals and/or late night departures.
