Job Summary
The executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Lagrange Troup County Humane Society and reports to the Board of Directors. This includes but is not limited to ensuring accurate recordkeeping, logging and tracking of all financial data, maintaining all licensing and insurance needs for the organization, care and maintenance of animals in our charge, oversee the admin and volunteer coordinator and advising the board of directors of any issues that may arise in order to create an execute the necessary corrections as needed.
Responsibilities
You will manage daily operations, including coordinating animal transfers from the municipal shelter, keeping up with state licenses, and arranging necessary vet care for all animals. You will also provide daily care, including behavioral training, enrichment activities, and ensuring animals are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and on monthly preventative medications. If needed, you will handle heartworm testing and treatment.
You will screen potential adopters and foster homes, conduct home inspections, process adoptions and fees, and handle merchandise sales payments.
You will plan and coordinate monthly fundraising events, the annual gala, and sponsorships. You will also manage mailing campaigns, design and track strategies to align with our mission, and oversee adoption events and community awareness programs. You will lead in-person meetings for the board of directors twice a year.
You will supervise the volunteer coordinator and admin staff, handle biweekly payroll, process vendor payments, and work with the CPA firm on tax filings. You will track volunteer hours, update the website, manage social media profiles, apply for grants and donations, and complete monthly account reconciliations. You will also provide financial reports to the board.
