The Division of Hospital Medicine at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is comprised of more than 77 physicians and approximately 29 advance practitioners, all committed to providing exceptional patient care. As a tertiary care academic medical center, we care for a broad spectrum of patients, many with highly complex medical disease. The Division has a very strong history of excellence in medical education and hosts a multitude of trainees throughout the year. We are currently searching for a Nocturnist.
Details:
- 7 on 7 off block schedule
- Nocturnists do not respond to codes; ICU responds to codes
- Currently the Nocturnists do Rapid Responses with residents
- Admissions to Internal Medicine overnight by residents; 3-4 are staffed by one of our Nocturnists
- Provide direct care to patients and supervise APP for both admission and cross coverage role
- The Division is a collegial group where providers feel their contributions are recognized and valued.
- Ideal candidates should possess strong academic credentials including Residency Training in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Candidates should be committed to providing exceptional patient care. They should be hard-working, dependable, collegial and professional in their demeanor.
- Retention incentive: 1 shift reduction per month after completion of 1 year as 1.0 FTE or equivalent, additional shift reduction after completion of 3 year as 1.0 FTE or equivalent
The following clinical programs and initiatives are underway:
- Collaborative unit based care practice model with ~ 85% geographic cohorting and daily multidisciplinary and transition care rounds at all sites
- Co-management services with orthopedic surgery at LHMC
- Co-management service with hematology at LHMC
- Inpatient teaching team rounds with internal medicine residents and UMass Chan medical students
- Inpatient junior hospitalist rotation for new PGY2 internal medicine residents every July and August
- Inpatient medicine rotation for international medical students at LHMC (~ 25 students per year)
