Role : Accessibility WCAG Engineer
Location : San Antonio, TX(onsite)
- Knowledge of Axe DecTools
- 2 years knowledge of ARIA
- 2 years knowledge of WCAG
- Background in quality assurance testing
- Technical knowledge : Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and DOM structure to analyze code and identify accessibility issues.
- Accessibility Guidelines : Familiar with WCAG standards and how to apply them to digital products.
- Assistive technology proficiency : Experience using screen readers, keyboard navigatos, magnifications tools, and other assistive technologies to test accessibility.
- Testing methodologies : Knowledge of accessibility testing techniques, including manual and automated testing tools and user testing with individuals with disabilities.
- Conducting accessibility testing : Perform manual and automated tests on websites and applications using assistive technologies like screen readers, keyboard navigation and color contrast checkers to identify accessibility issues.
- Evaluating against accessibility standards. Analyze test results against established accessibility guidelines (WCAG) to determine compliance levels and prioritize critical issues
- Identify accessibility issues : Detect problems like missing alt text, inadequate color contrast, improper ARIA attributes, Keyboard navigation issues, and semantic HTML errors.
- Reporting and documentation : Create detailed reports outlining accessibility findings, including screenshots, specific issues, and actionable recommendations for remediation.
- Collaborating with dev teams : Work closely with designers and developers and project managers to communicate accessibility concerns, provide technical guidance on implementation, and ensure fixes are implemented effectively.
- Staying updated on accessibility trends : Keep abreast of evolving accessibility standards, best practices and new assistive technologies to maintain expertise in the field.
