Laidig Systems, Inc. is actively interviewing candidates for a CNC Mill Programmer/Operator. Laidig is looking for a positive, high energy, self-directed individual to join our growing team.
This is a first shift position.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: the CNC Mill Programmer/Operator requires a minimum three (3) years of work experience in a CNC machining environment. High school diploma or equivalent is required with demonstrated hands-on proficiency in CNC Mill metal removal production systems. CNC technical degree or equivalent certificate programs are desired. Experience with Haas Equipment, Mastercam and Solid Modeling desirable.
JOB DESCRIPTION: the CNC Mill Programmer/Operator is responsible for maintaining assigned the CNC Mill area and performing the following functions: Must be capable of reading blue prints, dimensional data, surface locations, and interpreting geometrical dimensions and tolerancing. Programmer/Operator determines the sequence of shaping operations and chooses the correct tools required and validates program. Programmer/Operator writes or modifies existing programs and stores them electronically. Operates CNC mill to perform various functions such as: facing, reaming, boring, turning, and grooving. Utilize knowledge of machine tool capacities and limitations, machinability of materials and shop math. Performs dimensional validation using micrometers, calipers, bore micrometers or relevant dimensional tools. Setup mill by installing and adjusting three and four jaw chucks, tools, attachments, and steady rests. Obtain and transfer stock to machine, manually or with overhead hoist. Log all work activities into labor reporting software throughout working day.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES for a CNC Mill Programmer/Operator:
- Use safety equipment at all times.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized work area at all times.
- Know the limits of the equipment and tools being used.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner; obey all safety rules and regulations.
- Advise Production Supervisor of any departmental or machine specific problems.
- Work overtime and off shift as required.
- Tool inventory and maintenance in area of responsibility.
- Perform other activities as required by supervisors.
- Cross train as required.
- Exhibit good character traits such as initiative, excellent attendance, desire to learn, honesty, and a positive attitude.
