The Director and Producer’s Assistant is responsible for creating and maintaining the short-term schedule for the Director as it relates to the film production needs, communicating developments to all impacted parties, and acting as the first point of contact for the Producer and production departments with respect to the review and reporting process.
Job Functions
- Strategize with the department Production Managers, the Producer, and outside parties as necessary to prioritize the Director’s daily schedule for internal and external meetings.
- Manage daily communication and notes between Director and department managers and production management.
- Oversee all assets shown to the Director outside of pre-existing rounds and meetings; distribute and track notes accordingly.
- With respect to the overall production schedule, provide critical information to the Director in partnership with the Producer on developments, concerns and potential challenges with reaching milestones and achieving deliverables.
- Manage Director reviews in partnership with department production management.
- Assist Production Management with special projects and events relating to the film.
- Manage the Director and Producer’s calendars, set meetings, connect with external partners/agents, take and distribute notes from meetings.
- 5 years of experience with project management or executive assisting, preferably in animation or live action feature film.
- Knowledge of project management software (ShotGrid, FastTrack, MS Project).
- Calm and personable under pressure and when working toward tight deadlines within a production driven environment.
- Ability to juggle various priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear planning, problem solving and analytic skills.
- Organized and methodical approach to work.
- Ability to use discretion, sound judgment and maintain confidentiality at all times.
