Key responsibilities may include :
- Damage assessment : Inspecting damaged RVs to identify the extent of repairs needed, including structural damage, exterior panels, and cosmetic issues.
- Panel removal and replacement : Removing damaged exterior panels and replacing them with new ones, using proper techniques for fiberglass, aluminum, or composite materials.
- Structural repairs : Straightening bent frames, repairing cracked or broken support structures, and reinforcing weakened areas.
- Surface preparation : Grinding, sanding, and filling imperfections on the RV body to create a smooth surface for painting.
- Painting : Applying primer, base coat, and clear coat paint to repaired areas, ensuring color matching and proper finish.
- Finishing touches : Installing hardware, trim, and other exterior components, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
- Maintaining tools and equipment : Cleaning and maintaining tools, spray guns, and other equipment used in the body shop.
