Responsibilities:
- Use Marvel saw equipment to cut metal according to specified measurements.
- Safely handle materials and load/unload them onto the saw.
- Inspect cut pieces to ensure they meet quality standards before moving on to the next routing.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Perform cycle counts on raw material.
- Follow safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
- Properly tag and deliver cut parts
- Use computer software to perform transactions and capture labor to each job
- Work with team members and assist in other areas as needed.
- Maximize efficiency and minimize waste
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Be able to identify and use basic hand tools
- Self–managed; team player
- Must be able to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
- Have a passion for doing a job well
- Basic math skills and ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Able to work overtime
- Willing to cross train in other work centers as needed
- Capability of learning manufacturing software being used on shop floor
- Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift and move 50 lbs
Preferences:
- Previous experience as a saw operator
- Prior experience in a fabrication environment
