Lake Air Products is looking for a 1st Shift C NC Machinist with prototype experience and a 2nd or weekend shift Machinist to join our team in New Hope, MN . We are seeking experienced CNC Machinists who can set up, operate, and program our CNC Vertical Mills. Responsibilities
Knowledge in use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not be limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales.
Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications.
Measures and marks dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for subsequent machining.
Adjust machine feed and speed and change cutters to machine parts according to specifications as needed.
Detects equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining
Set up CNC lathes, multi-axis lathes, and 4-axis horizontal milling, vertical milling machines.
Proven ability to program and an in-depth understanding of blueprint reading including GD&T.
Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and set up requirements.
Knowledge of advanced setup, machine feed, speed,and shop math
Program, set up, and run very complex prototypes without assistance
Ability to program using (CAD CAM SOFTWARE) Master cam.
Qualifications
Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED (Trade School a PLUS) responsibilities
Must have experience in milling and turning
CNC experience with vertical machining centers including 4th axis - Doosan and / or KIA, Haas machining experience preferred
Knowledge of advanced setup, machine feed and speed and shop math
Must have a basic understanding of manufacturing safety regulations and a willingness to always follow correct safety procedures
Must be a team player with an excellent attitude, can work independently along with the willingness to work beyond a 40-hour week when business dictates
