POSITION OVERVIEW:
Lake Area Technical College is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Admissions Representative. As an essential part of college’s recruitment and enrollment efforts, the Admissions Representative plays a crucial role in attracting prospective students and guiding them through the admissions process. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a passion for education, and a commitment to fostering a welcoming environment for all prospective students.
REPORTS TO: Dean of Student Services, Vice President
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of an Associate’s Degree is preferred or a combination of education and
- experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with prospective
- students, families, and colleagues.
- An independent, self-starter who is committed to meeting the goals of Lake Area Tech
- admissions department.
- Adept at presenting information to diverse audiences in a clear and compelling manner.
- Knowledge of higher education trends, admissions processes, and financial aid resources a plus.
- Genuine passion for education and a strong commitment to helping students achieve
- their academic and career goals.
- Commitment to detail and follow up.
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends for admissions and campus events.
- Significant travel and overnight travel.
- Knowledge of LATC, South Dakota, or the Midwest a plus.
- Other duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively engage in recruitment activities to attract a diverse pool of potential students. Represent the college at high schools, college fairs, community events, and other outreach opportunities to professionally promote Lake Area Technical College's programs and opportunities.
- Provide comprehensive guidance and support to prospective students throughout the admissions process. Answer inquiries related to academic programs, admission requirements, and other college-related information.
- Efficiently and accurately process student applications and supporting documents. Collaborate with relevant Lake Area Tech departments to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Conduct personalized Lake Area Tech campus tours for prospective students
- and their families.
- Highlight the college's facilities, academic resources, and student life to
- showcase the unique benefits of attending Lake Area Technical College.
- Coordinate and participate in admissions and campus events, such as open houses, information sessions, and orientation programs.
- Collaborate with the admissions team to organize successful events that attract and engage potential students.
- Cultivate positive relationships with high school counselors, teachers, and community organizations to expand the college's network and increase referrals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions, inquiries, and applications using the college's CRM system. Utilize data insights to identify trends and
- enhance recruitment strategies.
- Collaborate with other college departments, such as financial aid, academic advising, and faculty, to ensure a seamless transition for admitted students.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary: $40,000.00 - $47,000.00
216-day contract. Evening and weekend hours required. Salary and benefits set by the Watertown School Board in accordance with the state postsecondary technical college instructor salary formula.
