JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Responsible for providing and maintaining a safe and fun environment in designated locations. Expected to supervise up to 20 students grades K-5 at a time. This is a rewarding position as you will help children learn and grow through engaging hands-on activities, homework, and outdoor recreation time.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES include but are not limited to the following:
¨ Supervisor and maintain responsibility of up to 20 children.
¨ Follows provided schedule and creates a positive atmosphere where children engage in preplanned age-appropriate enrichment activities.
¨ Maintain quality of program supplies and work closely with the Program Director to ensure all supplies are readily available when needed.
¨ Assist with opening and closing procedures including walk throughs of areas utilized to ensure environment is safe and free of any potential hazards.
¨ Reflect a professional manner while providing excellent customer service and maintaining a positive attitude with parents.
¨ Be able to communicate and enforce program rules and expectations in a positive way.
¨ Carry and maintain binder that includes the essentials to be prepared for any occurrence. (Including but not limited, roster sheets, parent contact information, allergy list (if any) and mini first aid kit.)
¨ Report any incidents and/or accidents to Program Director immediately.
¨ Follow proper sign out procedures ensuring children leave with the appropriate verified adult.
¨ Must be willing to participate in or supervise outdoor recreation activities. (Weather pending)
¨ Attends all staff meetings and trainings when required.
¨ Preforms all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
¨ Must have minimum 1 year experience in working with youth
¨ Highschool diploma or equivalent
¨ Must be 18 years or older
¨ Ability to motivate youth, provide a safe and fun environment and resolve/manage any behavior challenges.
¨ Must have reliable transportation
