Position: Golf Course Superintendent

Location: Lake Bluff Golf Club

Lake Bluff Golf Club is seeking a full-time Superintendent. Facility is an upscale 18-hole golf course located in Lake Bluff, Illinois. Only qualified candidates will be considered. The ideal candidate we are seeking for this position is a well- rounded, professional, experienced golf course superintendent. Within this role the ideal candidate understands all facets of maintaining a upscale, public golf course and being a good team member that can communicate effectively with the General Manager and Mechanic/Foreman on a daily basis.

• The Superintendent is responsible for the successful operation of the golf course maintenance department and is responsible for the golf course, clubhouse and driving range grounds including the peripheral boundaries of the property. The ideal candidate will understand the importance of physically working on the course with the crew to maximize productivity, understands the need for necessary time management skills, the ability to foster a well-trained maintenance staff of a 5-7 man crew dependent upon location, ability to coordinate work with the Mechanic/Foreman, accomplish daily paperwork and maintain records required by governmental entities internally and externally with the ultimate goal of delivering a high-end product to golfers.
• The ideal individual will be able to provide agronomic direction and work hands-on to maintain the golf course at the highest quality level possible at all times following GolfVisions company policies and standards set for this facility via GolfVisions and the client/owner.
• Programs for turf/grass, material and chemical maintenance and asset management are critical to the success of this role. The ability to identify disease and chemically treat/prevent it are imperative.
• The Superintendent is responsible for working within a budget and works aggressively to achieve financial goals throughout the year, through proper forecasting, expense controls and labor management set by GolfVisions corporate and facility budget.
• Daily interaction with the Golf Operations staff is ideal to ensure we are maximizing the number of rounds of golf played by scheduling maintenance practices around daily public play, leagues and outings with minimal interference from maintenance staff.
• The Superintendent is responsible for hiring, training and developing all staff, including ensuring the staff is working within OSHA, club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.

Job Requirements

• 1-3 years in Golf Course Maintenance management (as Superintendent or Assistant)
• Min 2-year College Agronomy Degree required
• Attention to detail.
• Commercial/Pesticide Applicators License required
• Good communication skills
• Team player
• Positive attitude towards work
• Ability to work within a budget

· Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements and recordkeeping as required by local, state and federal laws

· Diplomatic team player, able to foster relationships with on-site staff, GolfVisions' Management team, Employee Partners and guests

· Bilingual (English - Spanish) communication ability a plus

• Salary range $72,000 to $82,000. Pay is negotiable dependent upon experience.
