Lake Butler Hospital is a critical access hospital in North Florida providing 24-hour emergency services, inpatient hospitalization, swing bed program, rehabilitation services, outpatient laboratory, and outpatient radiology (X-ray, ultrasound, and CT Scan) services to Union County and the surrounding counties. Job Summary:
Assesses patient’s conditions, needs and goals to establish effective therapy and treatment plans according to the prescription of a physician. Complies with treatment plans and communicates with patients, their family, and caregivers while being compassionate and sensitive to patients concerns and needs Treats disabilities, injuries and diseases according to the prescription of a physician with the various modalities and skills of the profession.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the care, safety and well-being of the patient during assigned activities and for observing all necessary precautions and procedures in the use of equipment to prevent retarding the healing process of an injured patient.
- Carries out treatment in accordance with the physician’s prescription.
- Responsible for observing all hospital policies and procedures, rules relative to the care and treatment of patients.
- Responsible for the care of equipment and apparatus, economical use of supplies, lines and utilities, and the cleanliness of the department.
- Responsible for compliance in documentation as required by the state agencies, and hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy program. Must be a fully Licensed Occupational Therapist.
Experience: With educational requirements met, no prior experience is necessary. One year in a hospital facility is preferred. Hand experience preferred but not required. At least one year experience dealing with different hand conditions, diagnoses, and post-surgical procedures preferred.
Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Hand experience preferred.
Knowledge: Have fulfilled the educational requirements and applied areas of Occupational Therapy to gain a bachelor or master’s degree. Have an understanding of hospital procedures.
Abilities: Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently adaptable, flexible and able to make quick decisions when plans change.
