Lake Champlain Ferries is looking for a friendly, outgoing person who can work with the public in a courteous manner. The Dockmaster is responsible for selling boarding passes to customers while providing a high level of customer service. The right candidate will have exceptional communication and organization skills, adequate knowledge of computer and register processes, and willingness to work various hours.
Job Description
- Provides a positive customer experience with friendly, and courteous service,
- Uses correct ticketing system procedures on Gateway Ticketing Point-of-Sale system to produce appropriate boarding ticket according to customer’s type of vehicle and number of passengers.
- Resolves customer issues and answers questions.
- Provides information on travel, safety on vessel, special trips and hazardous materials where applicable.
- Directs and controls traffic on the dock. Is aware of parking lots and areas surrounding the dock.
- Collects payments by accepting cash, credit card or charge payments from customers and makes change for cash customers.
- Balances cash drawer by counting cash at beginning and end of work shift.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as required.

- Available and willing to work flexible hours/shifts (weekends, evenings, and holidays); as this is a 24-hour business.
- Comfortable working in a fast paced team environment, performing repetitive tasks.
- Desire to serve the public in a safe and courteous manner.
- Comfortable with going through a background check.
Job Type: Part-time
