Located on the New York shores of Lake Champlain, just west of Valcour Island, VIM will be opening in 2025 with new docks, new utilities, new moorings, new bathrooms—all new everything! Limited slips and moorings will be available during phase one, with a majority of slips already allocated.
Our full-service fuel dock includes non-ethanol gas, diesel, and pump-outs.Fuel dock hours are 8am-8pm, Monday-Sunday during our season, which runs from mid-May through mid-October.
We are actively looking for highly energetic, self-motivated, dependable people to join our team-first seasonal staff this summer. A successful applicant must be willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays if needed. Open positions include:
Seasonal Dock Attendant
Summary of Position:
Our season-long face of Valcour Island Marina, each Dock Attendant will be responsible for fostering and creating a culture of service and safety to all of our members and guests. Valcour Island Marina will pride itself on its customer service and each member of the team will be responsible for performing their role during the summer.
Marina services that are provided include fueling and pumping out vessels, and aiding in vessel dockage. The Marina Attendant is responsible for the safe docking, fueling, pump out of vessels, organizing reservations and keeping track of seasonal, transient, and hourly dockage of all slips. Marina Attendants will be responsible for opening and closing responsibilities of the Marina to include daily cash out, locking the gas pumps and putting away all Marina services. Marina Attendants must have knowledge of the lake and surrounding area to assist boaters and provide the best customer service possible.
Duties and Responsibilities:
A successful candidate must be able to learn the duties and perform each at a high level. Must know how to fuel a vessel without spilling gas or diesel, and must know what type of fuel a boat takes. Responsible for pumping out sewage tanks on vessels and filling water tanks. Must be able to operate our Point of Sale system and complete credit card and cash transactions. This will also include taking and managing reservations for dockage. Marina Attendants are responsible for keeping track of transient slips including overnight dockage and knowing which ones are charged by the hour. Marina Attendants will routinely check on seasonal marina customer’s boats and slips. It is the duty of the marina staff to make sure the facilities stay neat and clean, including trash and recycling, scrubbing docks, and general maintenance.
Qualifications:
To work in the Marina individuals need to be very outgoing and willing to provide the best customer service possible in a safe and courteous manner. Must have good organizational and communication skills. Previous Marina experience is recommended to include: knowledge of boat and marina operations, as well as the Lake Champlain area. Marina employees must have the ability to work flexible hours and shifts that include weekends and evenings.
Marina Store Retail Sales Associate
Retail Sales Associate Job Responsibilities:

Marina Cash Associate
Marina Cash Associate Job Responsibilities:
- Reset daily banks with use of security safe for independent silver.
- Compilation of daily deposits, to include all supporting internal and external paperwork.
- Oversees fuel usage practices on marina property.
- Manage UPC codes for inventory items.
- Administer VIM A/R reports with LCT accounting and follow up with overdue accounts.
- Track VIM payments for non-retail transactions, such as seasonal slips, etc…
- Administer customer contract and necessary paperwork processes.
- Manages financial transactions.
- Assist store staff with transactional issues.
- Alerts management of potential security issues.
- Report to LI Operations and LCT Accounting any above discrepancies.
- Make physical bank deposits
- Additional responsibilities may be added based on direction of operations.
