What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation / Van Driver position at Lake Charles Care Center?
Lake Charles Care Center, a 182-bed skilled nursing facility, is seeking a Van Driver for our facility van. Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
- Monday – Friday and occasionally Saturday; Hours vary
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate care of the elderly, dependability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Transport residents to and from appointments on a Company vehicle
- Provide care to our residents, while on appointments and at the facility during non-appointment times
Requirements:
- Valid Louisiana driver's license
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate preferred, but not required
- Have a good driving record with no more than one (1) moving violation or accident in the past 3 years, and no license revocations or suspensions in the past 5 years
- Complete company provided Defensive Driving course.
- Able to follow oral and written instructions.
- Work as a team member responsibly and independently.
- Possess good communication skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to and communicate with the geriatric population.
- Able to assess data reflecting the resident's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each resident's requirements relative to their age-specific needs.
