DESCRIPTION OF POSITION :
- The Psych House Supervisor organizes patient care and general unit activities to accomplish required functions with delegation of these activities to other staff as appropriate.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
- Develops, implements and enforces policies and procedures which support the Hospital's mission, goals and objectives.
- Assists in the develops annual departmental budget and operates within budgetary guidelines.
- Recommends and ensures appropriate staffing levels. Allocates resources according to priorities.
- Generates creative solutions & attention to detail.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
- Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
- Develops alternative solutions.
- Balances team and individual responsibilities.
- Demonstrates persistence and follow through even when faced with adversity or challenges.
- Ensures that staff complies with mandatory education, license requirements, mandatory health requirements, etc.

- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Prefer 2-4 Years Experience in working with mentally ill & / or addictions; Prefer 1- 2 Years Experience in Healthcare leadership setting.
- Nursing License as a registered nurse in Louisiana or multi-state compact license.
- Crisis Response Training, CPR
- Ability to communicate with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
- Requires emotional stability and resilience.
- Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrate foresight.
- Exhibits organizational and leadership ability.
- Shows ability to gain and maintain support and respect.Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Work requires a variety of physical activities, including moving about within and outside of all hospital properties for long periods of time.
- Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergent situations.
- May be required to assist in controlling disorderly conduct or combative patients.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
