Summary/Objective
The EHS Coordinator develops and implements programs, policies, and assessments to ensure that our associates and community are safe and that the company is in compliance with all appropriate regulations.
Essential Functions
- Develop, document, and coordinate the execution of LCP's EHS plans to keep associates and the community safe
- Prepare and present policies, training, and other communication materials to establish EHS expectations, best practices and reinforce a culture of health and safety
- Evaluate/audit EHS practices and procedures to assess compliance, detect risks, and identify areas of improvement
- Investigate and document EHS accidents, incidents, and near misses to discover root causes and develop/implement preventative actions
- Prepare all necessary regulatory and compliance records and filings, including OSHA and EPA.
- Develop and lead safety team/committee to obtain additional associate engagement
- Report on EHS statistics
Qualifications or Skills Required
- High School Diploma/GED
- Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- 2 years of experience in an EHS role at a manufacturing organization with emphasis on: a) safety training, inspection/audit, job safety analysis, ergonomics program development; b) accident investigation, promotion of safety prevention/awareness; and c) safety record keeping and statistical report generation
- Strong desire to learn and comfortable working in a high-energy, results focused environment.
- Ability to safely drive / train operators in safe use of a forklift
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Exhibit good judgement, common sense, leadership, decision making skills, and possess effective interpersonal skills
- Must be flexible and able to handle multilple and varied tasks
- Must have valid driver's license
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of local, state and federal OSHA and EPA rules and regulations
- Experience with EPA, OSHA, and other regulatory reporting systems (TRI, eDMR, eManifest)
- Familiarity with communication with government / regulatory agencies

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the EHS Coordinator is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and hazardous chemicals. The performance of this position requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, gloves and any other PPE as needed. The noise level is moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the EHS Coordinator is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee must occasionally lift and move items over 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position; approximately 40 hours of work per week are required to fulfill the responsibilities.
Travel
Limited travel is expected for this position.
