What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Teacher Tutor, Family Resource Center - Lake County position at Lake County Educational Service Center?
- Support students engaging in summer programming academically, social emotionally, and behaviorally.
- Keep informed of trends, methods, and issues as well as local, state, and federal mandates/policies relating to teaching in the area of certification/licensure.
- Properly supervise student behavior and teen volunteers.
- Confer with parents/caregivers, and other educators as necessary.
- Support students in math, literacy, science academic subjects.
- Create learning materials and use all available resources to present instruction geared to each student's ability and interest (lesson planning time will be available to you).
- Work with students to increase motivation, provide consistent reinforcement to learning, continuous assessment of level of functioning, and continuous feedback to student for all learning activities.
- Support parents in developing skills in dealing with student's learning.
- Perform necessary record keeping procedures to include attendance, behavior incidences, etc.
- Attend meetings and complete forms necessary for the quality operation of education relating to your area of responsibility.
- Attend training and pass any test or assessment related to such training within the timeframe established by the supervisor.
- Must be to work at least two (2) evenings per week in the month of June 2025 (T/TH) 5:30-7:30 p.m.., with lesson planning time total of 10 hours per week.

Summary:
ESCWR Summer Sidekicks is a no cost summer learning program that provides grade 1-6/7 students with review and enrichment in the month of June to prevent the summer slide. ESCWR Summer Sidekicks has fun weekly themes to keep students interested and engaged! The program is summer camp style and has stations that students rotate through. Stations consist of Mathematics, English Language Arts/Reading, Science, Arts, and Physical Recreation time to provide students with a well-rounded program. Reverse field trips and community partners are brought in to provide meaningful activities and lessons at the ESCWR Hale Road Student and Family Resource Center by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned by the administration.
Education/Experience & Certification: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree in progress; prefer a valid teaching license with the State of Ohio Department of Education. Experience in recreation and/or day camp is a plus. At a minimum must obtain a substitute teaching license.
Criminal Records Check: Must comply with Ohio Revised Code 3319.39 – Criminal Records Check.
Drug Testing: Must pass a 10 panel drug screen at time of hire and comply with the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988.
