What are the responsibilities and job description for the Independence Grove Attendant Team Lead position at Lake County Forest Preserve District?
TEMPORARY POSITION: MAY - OCTOBER 2025
SUMMARY
The Independence Grove Attendant Team Leader assists patrons as well as Independence Grove Attendants at the entrance gate, marina, and Visitors Center. Depending on rotation, the Team Leader provides customer service by collecting user fees and disseminating site-specific information, provides patrons with boat rentals and safety information, and answers phone calls. Conducts proper cash control in the collection of revenue and reconciliation of receipts; collects partial deposits and places in drop safe. Disseminates employee regulations in the absence of a Manager, ensuring completion of all tasks, and maintenance of a clean and safe work environment. Provides coverage during various shifts, allowing for continued Preserve operation during staff breaks. Assists in the training and mentoring of Independence Grove Attendants. Performs tasks that will require walking, bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, climbing reaching and sitting. Performs lifting tasks up to 50 pounds.
EXPERIENCE
One year of experience as an Independence Grove Attendant. One year of experience in customer service/cash handling. Possess a strong knowledge of Preserve operations, acting as a reliable source for visitors and Independence Grove Attendants.
