What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Financial Specialist position at Lake County General Health District?
Position Summary:
· Obtains, analyze and project financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. Maintains personnel records and data.
Essential Duties:
· Prepares and processes routine financial documents, grant documents and program related forms;
· Process and prepare monthly grant reports for Directors and maintain spreadsheets regarding direct cost and salary fringes:
· Prepares, maintains and balances grant records;
· Reviews invoices and employee reimbursements for proper coding, proper supporting documentation, appropriate approvals and accurate charges. Ensures proper internal controls are followed;
· Reconciles payables transactions with vendor statements, and research and correct disputes and discrepancies;
· Processes and tracks purchase order requests and verifies fund availability. Ensures that purchasing processes are followed and vendor selection is appropriate;
· Performs data entry of invoices and employee reimbursements;
· Prepares regular deposits (Pay-In's);
· Oversees data entry procedures for cash disbursements and cash receipts;
· Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed and total accounts.
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
· All health district employees have an emergency response role and may be expected to respond to threats to the public’s health in accordance with the Lake County General Health District Emergency Response Plan;
· Job duties will be performed at the Lake County General Health District and Geauga Public Health;
· Performs other duties as assigned consistent with position.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
· Must have prior computer experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) preferred;
· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel;
· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel;
· Must have and maintain a valid State of Ohio driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
