JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for coordinating the secure movement throughout units within the Lake County Detention Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates all doors within the facility and to the sally ports.
Answers phone calls and directs inquiries to the appropriate areas.
Listens to radio calls and relays messages within units.
Monitors unit screens.
Responsible for all pedestrian movement within their assigned area.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
May assist units on gathering information.
When working in central control, maintain control panel and logs all movement in secured area.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities to include employees or inmates.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be a United States citizen.
Must not have been convicted of a felony.
Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor involving moral character.
Must not have been released or discharged under any other than honorable conditions from any of the Armed Forces of the United States.
Must meet visual requirements of at least correctable to 20/40 in each eye.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES and REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must be able to present a positive image in person and over the phone.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires all work to be performed inside the Lake County Correctional Facility. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Depending on assignment, the employee may be required to work long and/or irregular work hours, including evenings and/or weekends. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may encounter the following: verbal abuse, chemicals, fumes, noise, vibrations, slippery surfaces, allergenic substances, irregular eating and sleeping schedules, bodily injury, contact with blood, bodily fluids, infectious or contagious diseases.
