The Superior Court of California, County of Lake is now accepting applications to create an eligibility list to fill current and future vacancies in the Court Clerk I classification.

SALARY
Court Clerk I - *Hourly: $18.98 to $23.07 Monthly: $3,290.41 to $3,999.51

DEFINITION
Under general supervision, receives, examines, prepares, files, processes and maintains a variety of legal documents; assists the public in person and over the telephone; verifies, enters and retrieves information from automated and manual record keeping systems; and performs other related duties as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Office and/or clerical experience or any combination of training and experience that could provide the desired knowledge and abilities
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, personal computers, and basic record keeping systems
  • Excellent customer service skills

HOW TO APPLY

SELECTION PROCEDURE
Applications will be evaluated to select the best-qualified candidates to continue in the selection process. The candidates invited to continue in the selection process may be required to participate in written testing and oral interviews.

Employment with the Superior Court is contingent upon passing a security clearance which includes, but is not limited to, fingerprinting and a Department of Justice records check. Before appointment candidates must provide documents evidencing identity and authority to work in the United States.

Veteran's Preference

Veterans of the Armed Forces of the United States who have received Honorable Discharges shall be given preference (an additional 5 points added to his/her final composite examination score-examination score must be 70 or higher to receive veteran preference points) in initial appointment to Court service. Such preference shall apply only to the first appointment to any regular Court position. Such preference shall be given to individuals discharged within the last three (3) years.

Persons claiming eligibility for veteran’s preference must submit a copy of Form DD214 or other acceptable proof of veteran’s status on or before the final filing date for the examination.
