What are the responsibilities and job description for the COaST Clinician position at Lake County?

. Dispatches into the community to respond to crises as part of the Lake County Sheriff's Mobile Response Team for Crisis Outreach and Support Team (COaST)
. Provides direct crisis intervention services to members of the community and community member family members including de-escalation, stabilization and linkages to appropriate levels of care.
. The mobile response team consists of a Sheriff's Deputy and Mobile Crisis Responder to meet with community members experiencing mental health or substance abuse crises throughout Lake County.
. Collaborative interventions often help in resolving crises before becoming life-threatening or escalates to a detain-able offense. . Responsible for mobile crisis response coverage over the telephone and/or in person.
. Evaluates and assess clients for level of care.
. Prepares and implements treatment plans with clients.
. Creates stabilization plans with client and links client to appropriate level of care.. Experience with behavioral health treatment planning and mental health assessments.
. Experience with interventions for individuals affected by alcohol and drug addiction.
. Demonstrates cultural competency in providing services to low income disadvantaged populations.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
. Associates degree and five (5) years' experience in behavioral sciences, or
. Bachelor's degree and three (3) years' experience in behavioral sciences, or
. Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) years experience in behavioral sciences, or
. Master's degree in behavioral sciences and no experience.
. Licensure in LSW is required.
. Additional licensure in LCSW, LPC or LCPC preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
. Frequently required to walk, sit and talk or hear for extended periods.
. Frequently required to travel throughout Lake County via automobile.
. Frequently exposed to inclimate whether during interventions.. The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and speaking abilities.
. Bilingual abilities are a plus.
. Must pass mandatory background checks which include pre-employment drug screening and polygraph.
