We are seeking a Security Engineer to join our Enterprise IT Security team and play a pivotal role in managing cybersecurity aspects throughout the County. This position reports to the Information Security Officer. This role will focus on overseeing the platforms securing the County including networks, endpoints and identities. The successful candidate with also be responsible for ensuring that all new and existing systems and applications have optimal security measures in place to protect the County from threats.

- Direct and support the security operation of the enterprise, emphasizing security components, risk management and controls.
- Manages third-party SOC and NOC vendors to identify any intrusion threats and coordinate response efforts throughout the County.
- Lead all security incident response efforts as Incident Manager.
- Provide engineering and support for firewalls, network segmentation technologies, security platform, cloud environments and identity management.
- Conduct regular security architecture reviews on existing technologies, offering actionable recommendations for improvements and remediations.
- Engineer and support security measures to protect against online threats.
- Work with internal staff and other County departments to ensure that optimal security practices are in place for all new systems, networks, and applications.
- Mitigate security risks associated with complex projects and those that could pose business challenges.
- Effectively communicate technical security concepts to stakeholders, acting as a subject matter expert regarding critical vulnerabilities.
- Assist in planning and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
- 5 years of experience in an enterprise-level IT environment. IT Security experience is preferred.
- MCSE, MCSA, CISSP or related certifications are preferred.
