Job Description

Available Shifts
We offer flexible scheduling to fit your needs, including:
- 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
- 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
- 11:00 pm - 7:30 am
Double Weekend Shifts
We also offer double weekend shifts on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 am - 11:30 pm.

Essential Functions
The essential functions of a Direct Care Staff/Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) include:
- Directing residents to areas as needed
- Assisting residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair, and incontinence care
- Obtaining food trays and assisting residents with feeding
- Assisting residents with range of motion exercises
- Providing personal care and comfort
- Moving residents to wheelchairs or activity areas
- Assisting residents with ambulation for short distances in the facility
- Taking and recording temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed
- Providing direct and indirect resident care services
- Meeting the communication needs of residents and their families
- Communicating changes in residents' clinical conditions to the nursing team
- Implementing behavior intervention plans as written
- Identifying, reporting, and responding to extreme behavior, such as verbal aggression, biting, hitting, kicking, throwing items, self-inflicted injuries, property damage, etc., in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and facility policies and procedures
- Completing behavior reports per shift as needed
- Completing maintenance work orders
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must:
- Maintain current certification as a CNA or DDCA
- Obtain and maintain MANDT certification
- Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification
- Have experience supporting persons with intellectual disabilities (preferred)
- Maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication
- Be able to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations
- Be able to communicate effectively with residents, their families, and facility staff
- Be able to give verbal instructions to individuals and staff, as well as write, type, interpret, and document program plans/active treatment goals and objectives
- Maintain patience and composure
- Perform close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing) 20-80%
- Perform sedentary work (continuous sitting) 20%
- Perform light work (standing, walking, lifting <15lbs) 20-80%
- Perform moderate work (lifting, moving, loading >15-30lbs, prolonged use of small hand tools, climbing ladders) 20-80%
- Perform heavy/hard work (above average strength and stamina, lifting >51lbs, constant shoveling, etc.) 20%
