Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Learning Through Play: Plan and implement age-appropriate, nature-inspired activities that engage children?s imagination and foster creativity, social interaction, and problem-solving.
- Outdoor Exploration: Lead outdoor activities that encourage exploration, sensory play, and physical activity, allowing children to connect with the natural world around them.
- Nurture Development: Provide individualized care and attention to each child, observing and supporting their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Promote Safety and Well-being: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children, both indoors and outdoors, following center guidelines and protocols.
- Collaborate with Team: Work closely with other teachers and staff to ensure a positive and cohesive environment, where everyone works together to provide the best experience for the children.
- Build Relationships with Families: Communicate regularly with families about their child's progress, milestones, and daily experiences.
- Be a Role Model: Demonstrate a positive and nurturing attitude, helping children develop empathy, respect, and social skills.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Love for Nature and the Outdoors: A deep appreciation for spending time outside, with the ability to inspire a love for nature in young children.
- Experience: Previous experience working with toddlers or young children in an educational setting, ideally with nature-based or outdoor programs (preferred but not required).
- Education: A high school diploma is required; an Associate's or Bachelor?s degree in Early Childhood Education, Environmental Education, or related field is a plus. Introduction to Early Childhood Education and/Skills and Strategies training is a requirement, if you do not have, must be willing to obtain.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to actively participate in outdoor play and activities, including walking, running, bending, and lifting. Being outdoors in all weather including rain, snow, and heat within the requirements of state licensing.
- Positive, Playful Attitude: A passion for working with children, with the ability to engage, support, and inspire them through play.
- First Aid/CPR Certification: Must be willing to obtain certification if not already held.
