What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Service Advisor position at Lake Erie Automotive Service?
Job Title: Automotive Service Writer
Location: Lake Erie Automotive Service
Job Type: Full-Time
About Us:
At Lake Erie Automotive, we specialize in two things: fixing cars and pretending we’re not stressed. We’re a local shop with a loyal customer base, a team that actually likes each other (most days), and a shared passion for diagnosing squeaky noises that only happen when it’s raining and turning left. Oh, and we have shop cats—because what's a garage without a few furry distractions and the occasional cat nap?
We’re looking for a Service Writer who’s equal parts organized, unflappable, and fluent in “customer.” Bonus points if you’ve ever calmly explained that no, the warranty does not cover damage caused by raccoons.
Your Daily Adventure Includes:
- Listening to customers explain how “their cousin’s best friend fixed a car once” and then somehow thinking that makes them a certified expert
- Politely nodding when someone asks if they can just “drive it like this for a while” because clearly ignoring the problem has worked wonders so far
- Talking to customers who are 97% sure their car is “just acting weird”
- Translating vague complaints into coherent work orders (you’re basically a car whisperer)
- Managing the schedule without losing your mind—or your pen
- Communicating with technicians who are either under cars and pretending to like it, or over it and ready to throw in the towel—you’ll make sure they don’t actually throw the towel
- Breaking the news gently: “It’s not great, but it’s fixable”
- Keeping paperwork from taking over your desk (and your will to live)
- Mastering the art of juggling flaming chainsaws—while simultaneously extinguishing part fiascos, massaging technicians' egos, and somehow keeping the shop from imploding.
What We’re Looking For:
- Someone with the organizational skills of a librarian and the stamina of a barista on Monday morning
- Excellent customer service skills, even when the customer has definitely been watching YouTube videos again
- Fast-paced multitasking wizardry
- A valid driver’s license (because sometimes you will have to move the car that smells like sadness and fast food)
- A sense of humor, because we are not surviving on coffee and sarcasm alone (okay, yes we are)
How to Reach Us:
- Call us like it’s 2003: 440.593.5980
- Text us like a modern human: 833.474.5173
- Visit us like a legend: 270 W. Main Rd, Conneaut, OH 44030
- Apply online like everyone else: www.lakeerieauto.com
We know your resume says “detail-oriented team player,” but can you juggle oil changes, customer meltdowns, and a car that mysteriously lost its tire while keeping your sanity? If yes, we need you.
