REPORTS TO: DEAN OF THE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS & SOCIAL SCIENCES
STATUS: FULL-TIME, EXEMPT, SALARIED
Lake Erie College, a small, co-educational, four-year, independent liberal arts college located in Painesville, OH, 30 miles east of Cleveland, invites applications for the full-time, tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Finance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides instruction at the undergraduate and graduate level, using collaborative, instructional technology, and innovative methods.
- Teaches finance courses, including corporate finance, financial systems, investments and intermediate corporate finance.
- Also teaches economics courses and general business courses, when necessary.
- Develops syllabi and coursework.
- Advises students.
- Provides assessment of students and supports College assessment needs.
- Establishes and fosters community and institutional relationships to form partnerships that will assist students with networking and job opportunities.
- Assists with the recruitment of prospective students.
- Continues expanding knowledge base with continued professional development.
- Provides general service to the College, including college and faculty committee assignments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & KEY COMPETENCIES:
- PhD in finance or economics.
- Industry experience is preferred.
- Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in teaching in a liberal arts college environment.
- A master’s degree will be considered with exceptional work experience in the field of finance.
- Growth mindset and institutional teamwork ethic.
- Creative, strategic, and thoughtful.
