- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Custodial experience - required
- Custodial experience in a K-12 environment - preferred
- Ability to respond to provided training and maintain the training provided

- Adhere to Board of Education policies and procedures
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, and refinishes floors; cleans, dusts and polishes furniture; washes windows and walls; cleans restrooms; disposes of rubbish, changes lights, etc.; makes certain all areas of the building are kept in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition according to industry and/or district standards
- Delivers (with district vehicle) mail, food, and supplies to all district buildings
- Provides transportation for district employees to and from train depot
- Picks up litter within the schools and on school grounds
- Cleans the cafeteria after student lunches or events
- Performs event set up, tear down and clean up
- Assures safety during inclement weather by shoveling, salting, snowblowing and providing slip protection on wet floors
- Applies cleaning products according to established safety procedures
- Adheres to safety measures for cleaning, lifting, moving, and operating equipment
- Performs minor repair and maintenance as authorized by Maintenance Supervisor
- Removes extraneous dirt/markings from interior and exterior vertical/horizontal surfaces (walls, doors, etc.)
- Advises Custodial and Maintenance Supervisor on matters relating to mechanical equipment and/or building maintenance
- Performs minor painting to walls, rails, playgrounds and other areas of the school
- Keeps all equipment in a good state of repair and cleanliness
- Performs miscellaneous landscaping projects
- Assists in setups and takedowns for building events
- Delivers district mail twice daily as assigned
- Performs other job related duties as assigned by the direct supervisor
- Adheres to Board of Education policies and procedures

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, grasp, feel, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and lift. Repetitive motions are required. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Elevated work on ladders and aerial lifts is also required.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly subject to inside and outside environmental conditions and is subject to loud noises, heat, cold, humidity, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gasses, chemicals and hazards associated with moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
