Homebound Teacher

Lake Forest District 67 is looking to hire a homebound teacher that is certified for elementary school grades Kindergarten through 4th grade. The homebound teacher will provide 5-10 hours of homebound tutoring per week. The rate of pay is $50 per hour.

Description: The homebound teacher will provide weekly tutoring based on the classroom learning. He/she will coordinate with the classroom teacher to design activities and learning experiences that help the student fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.

Responsibilities:

• Implement instructional activities provided by the student's teacher(s) of record including any differentiation.
• Help provide a learning environment that meets the needs of students with diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and learning styles
• Provide instructional assistance to the student that is clear, compelling, and engaging.
• Deliver instructional strategies that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
• Pick up and deliver student assignments as required.
• Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
• Maintain a dependable homebound schedule.
• Provide appropriate feedback to the student’s teacher(s) regarding student progress during homebound.
• Use appropriate materials, technology, and resources to help meet the learning needs of all students.
• Facilitate student access to the use of technology as appropriate.
• Collaborate with students, parents, school staff, and the principal to assist in meeting student needs.
• Serve as the liaison between the school and the home for the delivery of instructional services.
• Establish and maintain a positive collaborative relationship with the student’s family to increase student achievement.
• Prepare required reports and maintain all appropriate records.
  
  

Qualifications and Requirement:

• PEL in Elementary Education
