What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sailing Assistant position at Lake Forest?
The City of Lake Forest is looking for qualified sailors to serve as part of the sailing staff during the Forest Park Beach 2025 season. Summer sailing assistants will work from 8:30am-4:00pm each day during the week, June 2nd -August 8th. The primary focus is running the LFS summer sailing programs.
- Enforces all facility policies, rules and regulations to ensure the safety of program participants both on and off the water
- Maintain a fun and productive learning environment
- Responds to parent and student concerns and inquiries in a professional manner
- Teach kids and adults various levels of sailing
- Other duties as assigned
Training Details
On-Site: Times and Dates TBD – likely week commencing June 2nd
*All Trainings are MANDATORY.
- US Sailing Level 2 Instructor (higher levels preferred)
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification, required
- One-design racing and coaching experience
- Safe Sport certificate
