Position Details:
Full time (40 hrs/wk), 8-hour day shift, typically 8am-5pm, must be able to work a flexible shift. Will work with Physician, FNP, or PA. Non-Exempt, Hourly, Union
Position Summary:
Functions as the medical assistant/medical scribe for clinic patients. Maintains supplies, equipment, medication, surgical tools, downtime computer and labs in the clinic as assigned. Tracks outdated supplies monthly. Assists all staff as needed in the clinic. Updates quality care goals for patients at each visit. Submits orders and referrals for continuum of healthcare. Accurately transcribes medical notes for the provider during the office visit, and ensures provider signs all documents in a timely manner.
Requirements
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Current CPR certification preferred, or must obtain within 30 days of hire. MA Certification preferred, or must be able to pass CMA certificate exam within one (1) year of hire.
Experience:
Previous Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
Job Knowledge:
Capable of performing duties as assigned. Medical terminology or willingness to take class. Must be able to quickly learn skill sets necessary to perform clinical duties. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
Skills:
Ability to communicate well with the public. Able to work effectively with team member and use tact and discretion in dealing with varying job situations. Able to maintain strict confidentiality. Able to deliver patient care under Physician supervision and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in operating Business Office computer programs. Adheres to established Hospital policies and procedures.
