Position Details:
Certified Nursing Assistant, PRN/as needed, less than 24 hrs./week, no guarantee of hours
Non-exempt, Hourly, Non-benefited position.
Position Summary:
Assists professional nursing personnel by performing simple treatment and related bedside patient care. Uses skill and knowledge in basic nursing procedures and techniques. The Certified Nurses Aide provides for patient personal care and comfort needs, and related non-professional services under the direction of the Registered Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse.
Requirements
Education/Licensing:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant Course. CNA License issued from the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Current CPR Certification. Successful completion of orientation.
Job Knowledge:
Responsible to understand and implement CNA duties as described by the Oregon State Board of Nursing: "Authorized Duties for CNA's" and "Standards of Care for CNA's".
Skills:
Function calmly and effectively in emergent situations and peak work times. Demonstrate empathetic and compassionate attitude toward patients and their families. Maintain confidentiality. Provide patient care under supervision and follow verbal and written instructions. Prioritize patient care needs and unit needs appropriately. Function as an effective team member with other hospital staff and physicians.
