Position Details:
CT Technologist
Full-Time (40 hrs./week), day shift, shared call required (to include general x-ray).
Non-Exempt, Hourly, Non-union
Position Summary:
Provides patient services using imaging modalities. Performs general radiography and computed tomography (CT) procedures. Applies principles of radiation protection. Evaluates radiographs and CT scans for technical quality. Exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Provides patient care essential to radiographic / CT procedures. Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures.
Requirements
Education:
Minimum of an associate degree from an accredited school of x-ray technology or equivalent experience, Bachelor degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Registration: (ARRT). Active/valid state license. Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training and meets the requirement for registration by ARRT. CPR certification required. Computed Tomography certification by ARRT required.
Experience:
New college graduate, if qualified, will receive on-the-job experience. Five to 10 years' experience preferred.
Skills/Knowledge:
Demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships with co-workers and patients. Ability to work with the sick and injured. Ability to accept constructive criticism.
Competency in components of radiographic practice as appropriate. To be competent in radiography / computed tomography technical factors, patient positioning, scanning protocols, and radiation safety. Competent in outpatient, inpatient, and emergent (trauma) patient imaging. Competent in contrast (IV, oral, rectal) administration.
