Position Details:
Full-time, 36-40 hours/week, M-F set schedule.
Non-Exempt, Hourly, Non-Union.
Under general supervision, performs a variety of venipuncture techniques involved in the collection of blood specimens from patients for laboratory tests. Assures proper identification and handling of specimens for analysis.
Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or GED. Certification as a phlebotomist by a nationally recognized agency preferred.
Experience:
Minimum six (6) months training or experience in phlebotomy collections preferred.
Job Knowledge:
Knowledge of medical laboratory operations, phlebotomy procedures & techniques.
Skills:
Ability to accurately obtain blood specimens from patients; accurately record specimen information. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. Aptitude for establishing & maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, patients, physicians, or general public. Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail.
