What are the responsibilities and job description for the Beach Attendant position at Lake in the Hills, Village of (IL)?
This position checks identification of residents and guests to beaches and ensures beaches are clean, safe, and secure for residents and guests. This position reports to the Director of Parks and Recreation or designee.
Maintains a clean environment. Rake beaches, picks up trash and throws away garbage as needed. Greets each visitor and checks identification to ensure residency before entry to beaches. Interprets and enforces all Village rules, regulations and policies as pertaining to facility use; explains rules and regulation to patrons and answers facility policy questions. Responds to customer complaints or questions and provides assistances as needed. Communicates and escalate issues, as appropriate. Monitors weather conditions and advise patrons of inclement weather Keeps and maintains all records and documentation of work performed. Be alert to equipment and facilities to ensure utilization, proper care, and maintenance is adhered to, report repairs or issues to supervisor. Utilizes proper safety precautions related to all work performed and adheres to all departmental and Village safety policies. Advises supervisor of hazards and corrective actions. Other duties as assigned.
Experience working in a similar environment or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Punctual, dependable. Must be able to work weekends. At least 16 years of age CPR/First Aid certification preferred
This work involves occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds within a limited range for access to storage boxes; work regularly requires sitting, frequently requires standing, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling and reaching with hands and arms. Work has standard vision requirements. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities. Work has exposure to environmental conditions including bodily fluids. Work is generally in a noisy setting.
