What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Program Supervisor position at Lake in the Hills, Village of (IL)?

Directs the work and manages the staff of the program. Assist in the selection, evaluation and discipline of all camp staff. Provides training and instruction. Assigns tasks, reviews work and prepares performance evaluations.Assists in the pre-planning of summer camp activities at the direction of the Recreation Supervisor.
Plans, organizes and implements age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate activities that is progressive and is challenging to each age level.
Creates age appropriate lesson plans in a wide range of instructional areas such as physical education, art, theater and academic enrichment.
Create and continually update daily schedule to account for changes (i.e., rainy days or special events).
Schedules employees and ensure staff is prepared for each work day.
Manages pre/post program site opening and closing.
Purchases necessary materials/equipment for the program and oversee camp budget.
Coordinates staff meetings as necessary to ensure effective and timely communication.
Counsels staff on guidelines, policies and procedures. Ensures staff is maintaining proper records and program documentation. Conducts audits for completion and substance.
Provides families with relevant information regarding their camper(s), intended to provide support to families.
Responds to complaints and concerns as necessary and ensure proper follow up.
Coaches Camp Program Leaders and Counselors on appropriate group behavior management strategies.
Be alert to equipment and facilities to ensure utilization, proper care, and maintenance is adhered to, report repairs to Recreation Supervisor.
Utilizes proper safety precautions related to all work performed and adheres to all departmental and Village safety policies. Advises supervisor of hazards and corrective actions.
Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent with three (3) years related experience in camp programming or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
At least 21 years of age
A valid driver's license is required.
1 year of management experience preferred
Must possess or obtain CPR/First Aid certification upon hire.
