Located in the Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina, Lake Junaluska is a conference and retreat center that hosts over 50,000 overnight guests annually. We have over 400 lodging rooms, a campground, and meeting space for up to 2,000 people. All of our facilities are located on a scenic 1,200-acre campus which boasts panoramic views, abundant recreation opportunities, and a 200-acre lake. Our market ranges from youth groups to affluent leisure guests primarily from the Southeastern US.
Position Summary:
The Beverage Cart will provide service to the Lake Junaluska Golf Course. Candidates must be able to provide great customer service with a smile to all guests. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide exceptional customer service to golf course patrons by delivering food, beverages, and snacks directly to them on the course via a mobile beverage cart.
Essential Functions

Must possess excellent hospitality skills and a strong desire to foster an attitude of “exceeding guest’s expectations”.

Be professional and understanding when working with guests’ last-minute requests with a positive can-do attitude.

Must be able to maintain a positive collaborative working relationship with other departments.

Must be punctual for all shifts.

Responsible for beverage cart sales and inventory controls of stock.

Distribution of assorted beverages and various snacks.

Processes guest’s orders and ensures that all items are prepared properly and in a timely manner.

Inspect cart to see that maintenance problems are corrected promptly, reporting these issues to the Manager.

Must be able to take orders for menu service, working with front and back of the house staff to provide the best possible service.

Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, and workstations at all times.

Ensure grade “A” health standards are consistently met.

Follow posted duties for specific meals and events.

Wear and maintain clean, pressed staff uniforms, to include wearing name tags.

Comply with all safety and sanitation policies, practices, procedures related to front/back house operations, to include wearing mask and clean gloves.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned and required.

Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures and report any unsafe activities or conditions immediately to supervisor or the Human Resources department.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and 6 months relevant dining/food service experience.

Must have a valid drivers license.

Must have demonstrated good communication skills, customer relation skills, and a commitment to providing responsive and conscientious customer service.

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, emails, and memos.

Working Conditions

Moderate to physical activity work, primarily outdoors in all weather conditions.

Occasionally working in a Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor kitchen/dining room setting with adequate ventilation, with moderate to loud noise.

Physical Demands: able to lift, carry or move items up to 50 pounds, standing for prolonged periods of time, walk, sit, reach (occasionally above head for trays, boxes, etc.)

Manual dexterity sufficient to perceive attributes of objects and materials.

Performs moderate to strenuous daily activities of primarily a food service nature, moderate to loud noise (food service equipment)

Vision: clear, close and distant vision to be able to monitor dining room activity and read menus.

Must be willing to work a flexible, variable schedule, to include overtime as required.

Operation Hours: Monday through Sunday, nights, weekend, holiday.
