Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Sound Technician to join our team on a part-time, seasonal basis. This role is crucial in ensuring high-quality audio for live events, conferences, and productions at our Stuart and Shackford venues. The ideal candidate will have experience with soundboards, microphones, speakers, and digital audio systems, along with a strong ability to troubleshoot technical issues in high-pressure environments.
Essential Functions

Set up, operate, and maintain audio equipment for live events, conferences, and productions.

Mix and balance sound levels to ensure clear, high-quality audio.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.

Coordinate with event organizers, speakers, and performers to meet their audio needs.

Maintain and repair audio equipment as needed.

Assist with other A/V tasks as required, including video and lighting.

Maintain an accurate knowledge of the daily work list and weekly set-up needs.

Responsible for the event configuration setup as detailed on the Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-
A combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate’s degree in related field or, a minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience working with Audio/Video equipment.

Proven experience as a Sound Technician in live events, theater, or production environments.

Proficiency with digital and analog soundboards (e.g., Wing, Stageboxes, Behringer X32, etc.).

Strong knowledge of microphones, PA systems, and stage monitors.
-
Ability to troubleshoot and repair audio-related issues during events.
-
Ability to lift and transport audio equipment as needed.
-
Hospitality experience strongly desired.

Must have demonstrated good communication skills, client relation skills, and a commitment to providing responsive and conscientious customer service.

Must be detail oriented with knowledge of a wide variety of software systems, word processing and spreadsheet applications, prefer Microsoft Suite.

Must have working knowledge of all types of sound systems, computers, and live video operations.

Must have a strong working knowledge of Pro Presenter, and Power Point on PC and Mac.

Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing needs, multiple task demands, and work structures.

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, emails, and memos.

Ability to effectively present job related information upon request to customers, clients, and employees of the organization.

Proven computer skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills are required.

Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of customer, clients and employee questions.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formats.

Working conditions

Moderate physical activity performing strenuous and non-strenuous activities with moderate to occasional loud noise.

Ability to coordinate work, regularly moves about, able to stand for prolonged periods of time, walk, sit, manual dexterity to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, talk to and hear staff and customer requests, and also lifts or otherwise move objects weighing up to 100 pounds.

Must be able to regularly climb a 15 foot fixed vertical ladder.

Must have adequate vision to carry out daily activities.

Work hours: Mon-Sun, nights/weekends and holidays as required.
