Dental Assistant/EFDA

Job Overview
Help wanted. Our practice is growing and we need help getting our patients in sooner. Pediatric dental office looking for that special someone with a gentle, patient, compassionate soul who enjoys working exclusively with children and special needs patients. Part time to start (14-16hrs), with potential for full time (up to 32 hrs) in 6 months if desired. Responsibilities to include dental assisting both in office and in hospital operating room setting, coronal polishing, and monitoring kids under nitrous oxide during dental procedures. Position is open to anyone able to fulfill duties listed above (Dental Assistant, EFDA, Hygienist, etc). Compensation rate will be based on education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
• Maintain aseptic technique to ensure patient safety and infection control.
• Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Document medical histories and maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
• Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow within the clinic.
• Provide education to patients regarding oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
• Ensure that all dental equipment is cleaned, sterilized, and maintained properly.
• Support front office duties as needed, including answering phones and greeting patients.

Experience

• Familiarity with dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical records management is essential.
• Knowledge of endodontics is a plus but not required.
• Proficiency in medical imaging techniques is desirable.
