Section Editor's are responsible for the entire production and final product of their respective section. The paper comes out monthly.
Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks)
Essential Job Functions :
- Gather story ideas for every issue.
- Assign stories to writers /
- Write headlines for your stories
- Ensure all editorial content is based on verifiable facts
- Arrive prepared and on time for weekly meetings.
- Communicate with the Layout / Design Editor about your section.
Specific Functional Job Requirements
Education Requirements :
Experience Requirements :
Newsroom experience preferred. Good spoken English skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Willingness to learn.
Knowledge :
knowledge of AP Style preferred.
Skills :
Excellent written communication skills.
Personal Requirements :
Ability to work as part of a team.
