We are seeking a friendly and energetic Host/Server to join our team. As a Host/Server, you will be the first point of contact for our guests and play a key role in providing an exceptional dining experience. You will be responsible for greeting and seating guests, taking orders, delivering food and drinks, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout their visit.
Key Responsibilities:Host Duties:
- Greet guests as they enter and exit the restaurant with a warm, welcoming attitude.
- Manage the wait list and assign guests to tables according to availability and preferences.
- Provide guests with menus, explain daily specials, and answer any questions regarding the menu.
- Maintain a clean and organized host station, ensuring all front-of-house areas are tidy and presentable.
- Monitor dining room activity to ensure smooth guest flow and an efficient seating arrangement.
- Communicate guest needs to servers and management.
- Answer phone calls, take reservations, and handle customer inquiries in a polite and professional manner.
Server Duties:
- Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and input them into the POS system.
- Serve food and drinks to tables, ensuring timely and correct delivery.
- Check in with guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and address any issues.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to answer guest questions.
- Suggest additional menu items to enhance the guest experience (e.g., desserts)
- Handle payments, process cash and credit card transactions, and make change when necessary.
- Keep workstations clean and stocked, including condiments, utensils, napkins, and drink stations.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down dining areas before and after shifts.
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure orders are filled correctly and promptly.
- Ensure the dining area remains neat, and follow all safety and sanitation protocols.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a host or server role preferred, but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong customer service skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations with grace.
- A friendly, approachable demeanor with a passion for providing great guest experiences.
- Knowledge of food and drink menu items, or the willingness to learn.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to complete various tasks.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.50 - $20.00 per hour
