(Part-Time) Golf Course Maintenance Worker

PAY RANGE: $13.85 per hour (up to 1500 hours per year).

Eligible part-time employees will receive up to a $5.75 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Click here for details.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work activities in this position primarily involve the maintenance of the park golf course. Metropark golf courses are a 7-day per week operation in many types of weather and top candidates should have a reasonable amount of availability for scheduling purposes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The list below is intended to describe the general nature of duties only. Employee shall perform other duties as assigned.

• Maintain and weed flower beds.
• Maintain and care for trees, plants, and shrubs.
• Operate fairway, greens mower and other turf equipment.
• Operate weed whip.
• Operate utility cart.
• Operate cushman.
• Edge sprinkler heads.
• Hand seed divots.
• Pick up garbage and tree limbs.
• Perform cup replacement on greens.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work varied hours depending upon park demands.
• Ability to traverse sandy, marshy or wooded areas with even or uneven terrain.
• Ability to load, unload and move materials between work locations.
• Ability to get along with co-workers, supervisors, and park visitors.
• Ability to distinguish letters and symbols.
