Job Summary :
The Human Resource Coordinator role is responsible for supporting the HR department with various administrative functions and duties. This role will support the recruiting process by screening potential candidates, completing pre-employment checks, and processing new employees including new hire paperwork. Responds to employee inquiries pertaining to policies and benefits. Provides support to the Payroll function by entering data related to salary increases, incentive payments, new hire entry and voluntary deductions. Prepares a variety of reports for internal and external sources. Is responsible for all administrative tasks pertaining to HR department functions.
Responsibilities :
Runs various reports on a weekly and / or monthly basis to inform other departments of hires, transfers, terminations, etc.
Assists with the recruiting process by posting job openings, searching for and identifying qualified candidates, and conducting interviews (in-person, phone, video).
Enters, maintains, and updates employee data inHRIS(e.g. name changes, address changes, new hire records, job changes, etc.). Files employment records according to filing system used and traces any missing files. Searches, locates and removes material from file or provides information to authorized individuals. Tracks and ensures all employees have employee handbook acknowledgements on file.
Assists in the pre-employment process by requesting credit and background reports on all potential candidates. Responds to employee and candidate questions related to employment and benefits.
Assists with payroll processing including inputting employee and payroll data intoHRIS(Workday), as necessary.
Maintains employee personnel files, employee medical files, and I-9 files update to date.
Provides administrative support as assigned, distributing mail received in the office, administering the Service Award program, preparing correspondence for the department, and providing telephone coverage to the department as needed. Completes verifications of employment and retirement paperwork as needed. Completes monthly department inventory and orders supplies as needed.
Preferred Education and Experience :
A minimum of one year up to three years of similar or related experience.
Prior experience with or the ability to quickly learn the credit union’sHRIS(Workday).
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field of study is required.
