About this Position:
LMCU is seeking a Mortgage Processor who will be responsible for gathering the necessary paperwork and documentation required for mortgage loan applications. This includes thoroughly reviewing mortgage applications to ensure all essential fields have been accurately completed, as well as organizing supplemental application documentation. This role serves as the main point of contact for the borrower, real estate agent, mortgage loan originator, and mortgage underwriter—from origination through closing.
What You’ll Do:
- Process conventional mortgage applications, including the review of reports, income, and asset documentation. Confirm all documentation meets the requirements to proceed with an underwriting decision. Finalize the loan processing stage by preparing loans for submission to the Closing department.
- Review underwriting decisions and prepare decision letters as appropriate, while working directly with applicants to obtain any outstanding items required by underwriting for final approval. Coordinate with outside vendors to obtain appraisals and title documents in a timely manner, while maintaining communication with the member and other relevant parties to ensure completion of the loan process.
- Finalize the loan processing stage by preparing loans for submission to the Closing Department. This includes obtaining homeowners insurance documents, payoffs, and coordinating with the Title Department and other internal partners to schedule closing dates.
What You’ll Bring:
- Four or more years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
- Prior mortgage processing experience is required—including a strong understanding of the mortgage lifecycle, documentation requirements, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Must have mortgage experience or formal mortgage training.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
