Official Position Description:
Natural Resources Workers (NRW) perform a variety of duties to help support their assigned park during the peak season.
- In order to better serve our guests this position will perform frequent and/or enhanced custodial and housekeeping functions such as cleaning facilities, buildings, restrooms and cabins (e.g., sweeps & scrubs interiors; apply chemicals for cleaning; remove trash; strip and wax floors; wash and dry laundry; set-up housekeeping).
- NRWs also perform various park office and campground duties that allow them to interact daily with park guests such as providing information on current health and safety protocols, answering phones, collecting fees and writing receipts, selling dock permits, and registering campers/cabin/lodge guests.
- They may also have the opportunity to work in a commissary, camp, marina, beach, or other park area to provide information on current health and safety protocols, operate cash registers and credit card machines, perform frequent and/or enhanced cleaning, or rent equipment.
- They perform routine and semi-skilled maintenance (e.g., paint signs & buildings; perform minor carpentry, electrical & plumbing tasks; assemble & assist with repair to area structures), groundskeeping functions (e.g., mows grass/greens; trim & cut trees; landscaping & grounds maintenance; apply fertilizer & pesticides; collect water samples) and perform maintenance to vehicles and equipment.
Equipment Operations: power tools, push mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, z-turn and front mount mowers, pick-up trucks, two-way radios, cash registers, office equipment, carpet cleaners, floor buffers.
Duty Assignments and Schedules: May vary from day to day based on assigned park operations.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
COMPETENCIES: inspecting equipment, structures, or material; handling and moving objects; repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment.
The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Criminal convictions do not necessarily preclude an applicant from consideration for a position.
